The Caloura Hotel Resort is located in the southern center of the Azores island of São Miguel, directly on a steep stretch of coastline with a fantastic view of the sea.|The well-kept hotel complex has 80 rooms and suites, all with sea …
Very good hotel clean and quiet, there is also a down side of this, nearby there is nothing if you don't have a car you are isolates there is a buffet restaurant at 28 euro pp. But quality vs price is not that good. There is also a snackbar average eat of 15 pp but limited choice. When having a car you are more flexible walking is an option but the walk is uphill and downhill. Not for everyone comfortable.
The place is beautiful
We had paid for three-bed rooms, unfortunately we got a double room with an extra bed about 1.6 m long. The room was located on the 1st floor. We have been to …
We had a very nice stay at Caloura Hotel Resort. The staff at reception and from room service were very friendly. Our room (23) was very nice and had a rain shower in the bathroom and a big balcony.
However, there were a few small things in the room to complain about: It was a bit musty, there were not enough sockets, one side of the bed had no bedside table and you had to get up to turn off the lamps above the bed. Some sun loungers in the pool area were broken. The offered wifi was very bad.
The pool was very nice.
The food in the Terrace Snack Bar was tasty and the selection was okay - although not huge. The prices were acceptable. We ate dinner there several times.
We didn't try the restaurant because the price for the dinner (buffet) at 28 euros was too expensive for the offer for the Azores.
The breakfast buffet had a wide variety and was good.
Despite the minor flaws mentioned, I rate with five stars because the great location makes up for a lot.

Terrible experience, there were worms everywhere in the room and in the hotel. The staff did not care at all, we contacted the reception many times but they were not able to solve the situation. We do not recommend to visit - we were happy to leave!
I really cannot recommend this place. Came here two months after a comparable stay in Terceira (which was so good that it made me come back to the Azores). But this place here is just a filthy and overpriced let down in every way. Had I come here first, you would not have seen me again in the Azores! Very disappointing experience.
Too many things went wrong to list them all here or to bring them all up to hotel management. Starting from a totally overpriced very basic food offering to me being offered an unsafe room initially and house keeping using the same cloth from the sink directly on the toilet without rinsing it properly, to just name a few things... Or how about that room service that gives you a random call at 10.30pm when you sleep for nothing (I had not even ordered anything)? I could go on and on…
To cut this short: Go somewhere else. Coming here is a bad investment, will not make you enjoy your holidays like you deserve to for your hard work and you will not get any good value for your money. Not even that sea view and location can justify staying here. My experience was that bad.
It was amazing! The best views, and great service too. The staff were wonderful— they were so helpful in the many questions I had. We didn’t try the restaurant because we were out all day, but coming back was lovely. It is decorated so …
